Program
Day 1 : PANGKALAN BUN – KUMAI – PARK
Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport you will be picked up by our local staff and take you to Kumai to board on the boat. The boat is a traditional Klotok wooden river boat about 12m by 2m with a roof which forms the upper deck where you can view the rain forest as it glides by. The guide's team includes the boatman, a cook and expert guide. In the peaceful afternoon we will slowly explore the quite river by the klotok while observe the monkeys along the riverside. Dinner and overnight on the boat. simple mattress, pillow, fine meals, bottled "mineral" water, mosquito net, kitchen, simple toilet available on boat besides the familiar - helpful guides and boatmen (L, D).
Day 2 : PARK – CAMP LEAKEY – BOAT
After breakfast board the klotok to travel up river for about 2 hours boating and then up a side creek to Camp Leakey where the older orangutans are reintroduced into the rain forest. Trekking through tropical rain forest searching for wildlife as well as tropical Jungle plant . Back to the boat for Lunch then witness feeding time at 14.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. Overnight on the boat or at the lodge. (B,L,D).
Day 3 : PONDOK TANGGUI – JUNGLE .
tart in the morning for full day trek from Pondok tanggui, the second rehabilitation, accompanied with ranger. On the way will searching and observe wildlife, ( the forest you will pass mostly is second grow forest but quite interesting). Lunch will be serve in the forest. Set the tend for overnight. Dinner and overnight in the forest. B,L,D.
Day 4 : JUNGLE – TANJUNG HARAPAN – KUMAI
After breakfast, enjoying the forest surrounding then continuing trek to Tanjung Harapan, around noon you will get Tanjung Harapan ( First rehabilitation for Orangutan ). Free program until the time to Witness feeding time at 15.00 pm for old rehabilitation orangutan given additional foods. During the night boating down slowly to observe firefly surrounding nipah palm mangrove at the bank of the river ( depend to the weather and the moon ) Overnight at simple losmen in Kumai. (B,L,D).
DAY 5 : KUMAI – SUNGAI CABANG – TURTLE OBSERVATION.
Morning pick up from the losmen, then boat up the java see by speed boat to Sungai Cabang, the turtle conservation site. on the way stop at Senggora where you can see the many different kind of fish and coral, take this opportunity to enjoy snorkeling ( we will considered with the weather condition, during Dec, Jan, Feb are not recommended ) . Continuing to Sungai Cabang village. The Village has very beautiful white sandy beach face to Java sea. ( Importance note : The beach is not touristic area and still very nature. The clear water sea is not recommended for swimming due still inhabitat by poisons jelly fish. Just play around the beach). During Night walking around at the beach to observe Turtle. Sungai Cabang beach in habitat by two different species of turtle. Green Turtle and Snake skin Turtle. Overnight at village house ( B, L, D )
DAY 6 : SUNGAI CABANG – PANGKALAN BUN
Enjoy Sunrise, Free morning program, observing the village of Sungai Cabang. Afternoon Boat back to kumai and transfer to Pangkalan Bun for the night. ( transfer from Sungai Cabang to Pangkalan Bun depend to sea condition ). B, L, D
DAY 7 : PANGKALAN BUN – AIRPORT
Breakfast at the hotel, free morning program until transfer to airport for next destination. B
